seeing is believing

Ever had that feeling where you know something is going to happen, even though your hoping and praying that it doesn't? And then something else, or someone else as the case may be, makes you feel...that the world isnt going to change and that everything will be ok. Perhaps even better than ok.
But then, that unwanted event DOES occur. And its strange. it usually only happens in an instant. It usually happens in some insignificant manner. And its in that insignificant instant that Seeing becomes Believing.

But here is the question:
What if you dont want to see? Or more to the point, what if you dont want to believe? Does the old adage always ring true?
I have noticed that some people seriously do not want to believe that certain events will happen. They are so sure that everything will stay the same that even when the event is taking place right in front of them, they still believe that the event will never happen.
Are these people innocent and have a sweet sincerity that allows them to see the good and not bad? or are they simply just too naive?

or is it that i've seen it all happen before so now i am jaded?

This is my dilemma. It is easy to say seeing is believing. you see the event occur and you think 'ok. that's the turn around. the change has happened. i believe'. But there is also that other saying of seeing only what you want to see. Have i become so cynical that i look for the negative? And if so, why do i do this?
hhmm....thats a deep question that im sure i know the answer to (in fact, i know i know the answer) but am refusing to acknowledge at this moment. im not sure i want to be dealing with that just yet. maybe it will become a late nite post after a few drinks....

But before I end this post that may not make sense (but what kaleidoscope thought does make sense?) here is my question for you:
Are you wide-eyed and innocent? or are you a jaded princess?
